SCHOOL PRINCIPAL GRATTON COLLEGE NPC An Independent, Co-Educational, Low-Fee, Day & Boarding School (Grade 000–12) Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, has the following vacancy: SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Commencement Date: 1 January 2027 The Governing Body of Gratton College NPC invites visionary, dedicated, and operationally astute educational leaders to apply for the position of Principal. Founded in 1997, Gratton College is a vibrant, high-performing low-fee independent school currently catering to approximately 500 learners, with existing infrastructure capable of comfortably accommodating up to 600. We are committed to offering quality, accessible CAPS education alongside two established boarding houses currently accommodating around 100 boarders. We seek an innovative executive leader who can flawlessly balance academic excellence with strict operational efficiency, strong community values, and long-term financial sustainability. Key Responsibilities Academic & Culture Leadership : Maintain rigorous academic standards across all phases while fostering a safe, inclusive boarding and school culture. Staff & Operational Management : Lead, inspire, and manage academic, administrative, and boarding staff while ensuring optimal personnel allocation, timetable efficiency, and robust daily operations. Financial Stewardship : Partner with the Governing Body to exercise strict fiscal accountability, maintain cost-effective management, and drive long-term structural sustainability. Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as the primary liaison with parents, regulatory bodies (ISASA, UMALUSI, KZN DoE), and the broader community. Requirements Relevant University Degrees and professional teaching qualifications. Current registration with SACE. Proven senior leadership experience (Principal, Deputy Principal, or Head of Department), ideally within South African independent or low-fee school environments. Strong strategic planning, administrative, and interpersonal capabilities, with demonstrated success in data-driven operational management. Clear Police and Sexual Offences Register clearances.
