WERK is a job search engine built for one problem: South African job listings are scattered across hundreds of separate career pages — every company, government department, and university runs its own site, with its own layout, its own search box, and its own idea of what a job title means. Finding every open role in a city or industry means checking dozens of sites by hand.
WERK does that checking for you. It watches company career pages, government vacancy circulars, and university recruitment portals directly, and brings every listing it finds into one searchable index. When the same role is posted in more than one place — a recruiter mirror and the employer's own site, for instance — WERK merges them into a single listing rather than showing duplicates.
How listings get here
Every job on WERK is scraped from a public source page and linked back to it. WERK doesn't host applications, collect CVs, or act as a recruiter — when you find a role you want, WERK sends you to the employer's own site (or the source it found the listing on) to apply. We're a directory, not an intermediary.
Listings are re-checked on a schedule and removed once they disappear from the source, so what you see is a reasonably current snapshot of what's actually open — not an archive of stale posts.
