Sales Representative
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth and providing excellent customer service within outlets where no dedicated merchandisers or shelf packers are employed, such as service stations, food service institutions (FSI), and smaller trade outlets. The role focuses on maintaining product availability, building strong customer relationships, implementing pricing agreements, introducing new products, and maximising sales opportunities within assigned territories. 1. Sales Growth and Business Development Increase sales volumes within allocated outlets and territories. Identify opportunities to grow market share and expand product distribution. Achieve sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Promote and sell the full basket of products to customers. Introduce new products and secure customer listings. 2. Customer Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers at store level. Regularly engage customers to understand and address their needs. Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer queries promptly. Act as the primary point of contact between the company and customers. 3. Route and Call Cycle Management Plan daily routes and customer visits effectively. Adhere to scheduled call cycles and service frequencies. Ensure all assigned outlets are visited as required. Maximise productivity and coverage within the allocated territory. 4. Stock Management and Merchandising Ensure continuous availability of products in-store. Monitor stock levels and place orders where required. Minimise stock returns, damages, and expired products. Maintain product facings and ensure products are displayed according to company standards. Support promotional displays and merchandising activities. 5. Pricing and Sales Monitoring Implement negotiated pricing agreements within outlets. Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and promotions. Record and report sales volumes by product category and outlet. Analyse sales trends and identify opportunities for improvement. 6. Promotions and Product Launches Coordinate product launches within stores. Arrange and distribute promotional and point-of-sale material. Support marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives. Drive customer participation in promotions and sales activities. 7. Administration and Reporting Complete all sales administration accurately and timeously. Maintain customer records and sales documentation. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports. Provide feedback on customer concerns, market trends, and competitor activities. 8. Compliance and Company Standards Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Maintain a professional company image at all times. Ensure compliance with company sales processes and standards. Safeguard company assets and equipment.
