Retail Stock Controller
What is expected –Retail Stock Controller Main purpose of the position Be a brand ambassador, to protect the company’s assets, stock and give exceptional customer service. Responsible for ensuring that the company's stock levels meet business needs. What How /Why My tasks • On time daily and start with tasks immediately • Ensure service efficiencies • Behaviour and best practice (world class, passion/morale and productivity) • Attend Level 1 morning meetings - problem solving, ideas, working together effectively, teamwork, communication leading to improved overall store scores • Adhere to the daily checklist (refer to App A) • Take accountability for my work and honour promises to customers • Services all customers at world class standard • Take accountability and task fast and efficiently Reaching sales targets • Merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion and escalate this to the Store manager • Correct merchandise accordingly by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • Hitting sales targets by up selling, cross selling and obtaining product knowledge • Participate strategies to improve sales • Need to identify lost opportunities and escalate this to the Store manager immediately Receiving Stock • Ensure receiving and storeroom are neat, tidy and well organised at all times • Follow the receiving procedure • Ensure all invoices are received with delivery, if not escalate • Always action perishable items first • Complete with accuracy, attention to detail is very important Stock control • Ensure that the stock is secure at all times • Ensure stock received are of good quality and check the best before dates • Report broken and damaged stock to Warehouse manager • Ensure stock rotation - FIFO • Daily stock takes: Count stock correctly and notify management if you are struggling • Store stock takes on a three-monthly basis • Shelves and stock must be always clean and presentable, labels facing to the front. • Expired stock must be prevented at ALL costs. FIFO • Check stock to ensure that the colour, packaging, and quality of product is not damaged. Notify manager if stock is not suitable for use. • Stock control is very important. You accept responsibility for the stock that you work with / in your area. Health and Safety, security, general maintenance and cleanliness of store • Protect customers by providing a safe and clean store environment • If allocated to wear a panic button – do so at all times • If any equipment in the store is faulty (including cleaning equipment), escalate to Store manager • Follow standards for health and safety (including food safety rules, policies and procedures) • Cold chain must be always protected - frozen or fridge products must be stored immediately in the freezer or fridge (as per product storage instructions) • Treat all company property with care, follow all safety and care instructions during use and when cleaning it • Clean as you go Innovation and change • Be a team player, embrace change and be proactive • Once a change has been implemented – adhere and follow through • Prepare and complete action plans for improved productivity and quality • Share new product innovation with manager Reporting and record keeping • maintain an up to date and accessible record keeping system • make sure that records are based on what actually happened, authentic, based on facts and not fabricated Productivity SA, HR and training • ensure all charts are up to date and correctly completed • clear understanding of targets at all times- escalate to Store manager if additional training is required when new targets have been implemented • ensure that I am familiar with SOPS and that I receive the necessary training should there be any changes • share knowledge with team members so that we can learn and grow together • increase my knowledge and skills General • flexibility in my work • implement lessons learnt from training received (received via mentoring, meetings, coaching, informal and formal training) • ad hoc duties as and when required • must be able to work under pressure and to react quickly to a problem • prioritising workload in order of urgency • maintain at all times business image and standards Personal excellence • strive for world class excellence in everything that I do • if you commit to it, do it - give your all - no excuses • practice the 5 s - sort, set in order, standardise, self-discipline, sustain • take ownership for all activities in my department running smoothly - close the circle • don’t pass the monkey and don’t take the monkey • live the brand by presenting a professional image • excellent clear and positive communication (verbal and non-verbal) • effective top down, bottom up and vertical communication • lead with a positive morale - a positive team starts with you • lead by example • escalate important and urgent matters via the correct channels • silent now ACCEPTANCE (INITIAL EACH PAGE AT BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER AND FULL SIGNATURE BELOW) Name of Employee: Employee Signature: Date: Name of Manager: Manager Signature: Date:
