Religious Education Teacher – High School (January 2027) Founded in 1946 by the Missionary Sisters, Assumption Convent School is an independent Catholic girls’ school located in the heart of Johannesburg. Assumption Convent School seeks to appoint a highly motivated, spiritual, and passionate individual to the position of Religious Education Teacher – High School. The ideal candidate will: Be a practicing Catholic with a deep commitment to faith formation, spiritual leadership, and values-based education. Be passionate about Religious Education and innovative in their approach to teaching the subject (grade 8 – 12). Have relevant experience teaching Religious Education in a Catholic or independent High School setting. Possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Embrace the use of technology (including generative artificial intelligence) to enhance the learning and spiritual reflection experience. Be fully involved in the spiritual and co-curricular life of the school, including retreats, confirmation classes, Bible quiz preparation, masses, liturgies, and school events. Be registered with SACE. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Manage academic demands and pressure effectively. Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
