Principal Technician (AD.08.4)

Brief Description: Minimum / Essential Requirements • National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience. • Proven laboratory experience and competency in histology, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques. • Good computer skills. • Good interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively (at times under pressure), as part of a team. • Ability to train staff and students in laboratory techniques and the use of equipment. Desirable Requirements BSc, BSc Honours, MSc or equivalent qualification. Microscopy techniques. Desirable Attributes Knowledge of laboratory occupational health and safety, good writing skills, strong communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, initiative, reliability, resilience, collaboration and effective teamwork.
