Vuleka St Martin’s in Rosebank invites applications for the following full-time teaching position, starting January 2027: Primary School Afrikaans First Additional Language Educator – Grade 4-7 Minimum requirements: South African citizen; 4-year B.Ed or bachelor’s degree and PGCE in the relevant subject specialization; Registered with SACE; 2 or more years’ experience in teaching the subject; Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months); Fluent in English and Afrikaans; Drivers License; Broad knowledge of and interest in the development and education of adolescents. Competencies: Proven track record of delivering outstanding results; Good understanding and application of school software programmes – Edupac and Microsoft 365 (or must be willing to be trained); Be innovative in the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching and use a variety of delivery methods; Facilitate tailored learning experiences appropriate to the needs and demands for students to reach their true potential; Possess excellent organisational and administrative skills; Work collaboratively within the academic team to assess, contemplate, and enhance pedagogical methods; Create and coordinate curriculum plans collaboratively with appropriate staff; Create assessments which deepen teaching and learning; Uphold the school values; Substantive understanding of current pressures relating to family and socio-economic aspects and how these may impact pupils; Ability to mentor and manage trainee teachers.
