Full-Time IsiZulu Teacher/HOD

Full-Time IsiZulu Teacher/HOD St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ a Full-Time IsiZulu teacher. The position is an opportunity for a teacher who is extremely experienced, talented, and creative and who will foster enthusiasm for IsiZulu and maintain a high standard of achievement. The ideal candidate will be a specialist IsiZulu teacher and/or Head of Department who is well entrenched in the IEB environment and has a proven and successful track record in teaching IsiZulu at FET level. Criteria: An appropriate academic degree qualification. Must be SACE registered. A passion for education and the desire to motivate and stimulate higher-order thinking. At least 3 years of experience teaching the IEB curriculum, from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Excellent communication skills and classroom management. The use and innovative integration of technology into the classroom is an essential criterion. Competence in terms of computer literacy – both Google and Microsoft platforms would be beneficial. An ability to contribute to the extra-curricular program within the school would be an advantage. Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Have a willingness to become fully involved in the life of the school. Be a committed, dynamic educationalist to enhance learning with practical, boy-centric approach to the subject. Be knowledgeable of current educational trends in IsiZulu. Having vision or experience to potentially lead the IsiZulu Department effectively and innovatively would be an advantage.
