Financial Accountant

Icebolethu Group is expanding its finance team! We are currently in search of a permanent Financial Accountant who will be responsible for preparing financial reports for the assigned business units. Financial Reporting & Entries: Process routine accounting entries, maintain supporting schedules, and assist in compiling Annual Financial Statements (AFS). Reconciliations: Execute monthly bank, petty cash, GL, and intercompany reconciliations alongside confirmation management. Tax Compliance: Calculate VAT and Income Tax obligations and prepare timely, accurate tax returns. Audit & Internal Controls: Assemble schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits, enforce internal controls, and resolve financial discrepancies. Education: B.Com in Accounting or a related financial qualification. Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience (experience within Financial Services or the Insurance sector is strongly preferred). Technical Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and Income Tax legislation. Key Competencies & Skills Technical Proficiency: Intermediate MS Excel capabilities and general MS Office fluency. Analytical Mindset: High level of precision, strong problem-solving ability, and meticulous attention to detail. Work Ethic: Proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while managing changing priorities and tight deadlines.
