Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of the Witwatersrand. The Wits Health Consortium will only respond to shortlisted candidates. Key performance area • Explain the objectives and procedures of the SMELTER study to potential participants in a clear and ethical manner. • Obtain informed consent from participants who agree to take part in the study. • Conduct home visits to administer structured questionnaires and collect relevant data from study participants. • Attend and facilitate data collection sessions at a central location during scheduled weekend visits, occurring 3–4 times per year. • Ensure accurate and ethical data collection while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to study protocols. • Maintain thorough and organised records of participant interactions and collected data. • Report any challenges or concerns encountered during fieldwork to the research team. • Adhere to ethical guidelines and research protocols throughout all interactions with participants. Required minimum education and training Matric (Grade 12) qualification. Required minimum work experience Previous experience in fieldwork, data collection, community engagement, or research projects is preferred. Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities • Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, organized, meticulous and punctual. • Ability to prioritize own workload to meet deadlines • Able to maintain confidentiality and act tactfully. • Previous experience in fieldwork, data collection, community engagement, or research projects is preferred. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse community members. • Fluency in English is required.
