JEWISH INTERNATIONAL Phyllis Jowell EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT TEACHER – JANUARY 2027 Phyllis Jowell School is a co-educational Jewish school that provides a dual curriculum of Jewish and General subjects The Preschool School runs small classes from 4 months to 6 years. We are looking for a Preschool Teacher with the following essential qualities and skills: A nurturing and warm person who is passionate about children and an excellent understanding of ECD An energetic and inspirational teacher A team-player with excellent interpersonal skills Well organised with good record keeping, report writing and observational skills An ability to communicate and liaise with parents Flexibility and the ability to respond positively to changes Collaborative worker willing to work closely with Kodesh (Jewish Studies) teaching partner, Assistant teachers and other Preschool teachers Computer literacy and ability to integrate IT in the class Creativity and the ability to innovate, develop and sustain exciting ECD programmes Excellent English verbal and written skills A minimum of three years’ teaching experience, and a ECD NQF Level 5 qualification or ECD Diploma/Degree Open to implementing progressive educational philosophy and continued self-growth A knowledge of Judaism and its customs would be of benefit SACE registration Clearances: Police, Sexual Offences and Child Protection Kindly forward your letter of application with a two page CV to admin@pj.org.za Closing date for applications: Friday 9th October 2026 If applicants do not hear or receive a response within 14 days of close of application, it may be understood that the application has not been successful
