Coordinator: Recreation & Leisure (AD11) (AD.10.4)

Brief Description: Key responsibilities include the following: The successful candidate will be responsible for: • Coordinate and administer the University's recreation and leisure programme. • Plan, implement and evaluate recreational sport, physical activity and leisure programmes for students and staff. • Develop and maintain an annual recreation and leisure programme and activity calendar. • Coordinate recreational leagues, tournaments, events, fitness activities and other participation opportunities. • Promote participation in recreational sport and physical activity across the University community. • Liaise with student groups, residences, faculties, departments, clubs and other stakeholders to identify recreation and leisure needs. • Recruit, coordinate and manage volunteers. • Monitor participation levels, programme outcomes and user satisfaction and prepare regular reports. • Assist with the development of partnerships and initiatives that enhance recreation and leisure opportunities. • Manage competitive and recreational sports clubs as allocated from time to time. • Perform any other duties reasonably associated with the position and assigned by the Senior Manager: High-Performance, from time to time. Required Academic Qualification/s, competences, and experience. • A national diploma or bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Recreation Management, Leisure Management, Physical Education, or a related field. • At least two (2) years' relevant experience in recreation and leisure, preferably within a university, educational institution, sports organization or similar environment. • A valid driver's license would be an advantage. • Sound knowledge of Safeguarding in Sport Policy • Report writing skills. • Excellent interpersonal communication. • Ability to coordinate several events in parallel. • Stakeholder management skills with ability to work during weekends We are looking for an energetic, innovative and student-focused professional who is passionate about recreation, leisure, sport and physical activity and who can contribute to building a vibrant campus environment in which students and staff have meaningful opportunities to participate.
