CO-CURRICULAR BAND LEADER & CHOIR LEADER INDEPENDENT SERVICE PROVIDER / PART TIME COMMENCEMENT DATE: JANUARY 2027 SAHETI School is an independent, co-educational, English-medium school dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, while promoting the ethos and values of Hellenism. Applications are invited from an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated music professional to join our team as a Co-Curricular Band Leader & Choir Leader.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the school’s choir and instrumental ensembles, inspiring learners through music, and contributing to a vibrant and engaging co-curricular programme. The ideal candidate will have strong musical leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a genuine passion for working with young musicians. Minimum Requirement: A relevant tertiary qualification in Music (Degree or Diploma). A recognized teaching qualification B.Ed. or PGCE Current and valid SACE certificate would be advantageous. Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience directing choirs and instrumental bands within a school or high-level youth ensemble environment. Strong keyboard/piano skills for accompaniment and rehearsal purposes are essential. Advanced knowledge of vocal coaching techniques, conducting patterns, and arrangement for school-level ensembles. High energy levels, strong administrative organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication with pupils and parents, a collaborative team-player mindset, and a genuine willingness to embrace Hellenic culture and Greek music. Key Responsibilities: Choral Direction: Direct, train, and accompany school choir(s), selecting a diverse, challenging, and engaging repertoire for school concerts, liturgical services, festivals, assemblies, and major productions. Band Leadership: Coordinate, rehearse, and manage contemporary and/or instrumental music bands (including marimbas, jazz bands, or contemporary performance ensembles). Ensemble Administration: Manage instrument inventories, rehearsal schedules, sheet music libraries, event logistics, performance uniforms, and tour planning. Co-Curricular Life: Actively drive the broader cultural life of the school, preparing ensembles for school productions, music soirées, inter-school festivals, and regional or international cultural tours. Mentorship & Collaboration: Work alongside the Head of Department and peripatetic music staff to support instrumental students and prepare collaborative ensemble showcases.
